Human Dog Sled Race

A Zany, Unique Race

The Human Dog Sled Race

A Truly Unique Event
We only know of a half dozen places or so in the country crazy enough to host it- Dartmouth, NH; Lowell, MA; Michigan Tech U.; Lake Okoboji, Iowa; Lake Geneva, Wisconsin….and Salisbury, CT.

We speak of course of Jumpfest's Human Dog Sled Race- that zany, hilarious exercise where six intrepid souls, five pulling one, on a sled of their own design, race against other teams on a 200 yard long snow course to the delight of hundreds of cheering fans, many of them holding a cowbell in one hand and a hot toddy in the other.

The HDR is a crowd favorite on Friday night of Jumpfest weekend, and if you would like to gather five of your friends or co-workers to participate in the fun, contact Brian at info@jumpfest.org. It only costs $25 to sign up a team, plus you get free entry to Jumpfest.

But if you are more of the observer type, there is plenty going on for you. Besides the Human Dog Sled Race, Friday night offers target jumping under the lights, food, beverages, bonfires all in a party like atmosphere.

And on Saturday and Sunday you'll witness some of the best ski jumpers in the East, some who will be looking to break the Hill record!
